The Green Risks I course will teach students to:

1. Understand the connection between green buildings, the environment and insurance coverage.
2. Define sustainable buildings and identify “green” construction techniques and materials.
3. Identify an Energy Star Home and Zero Energy Home.
4. Identify water conservation measures and equipment typical to green risks.
5. Interpret Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) criteria and standards.
6. Interpret other green rating systems used in the U.S.

Applying the skills developed in this training course will help students gain a marketable competitive advantage in today’s U.S. insurance industry which is preparing for the explosion of the green movement.

Company staff insurance adjusters, independent property adjusters, claim examiners, claim managers, agents, agency managers, underwriters, re-inspectors and contractors.

Students should have pre-existing experience performing same job requirements on conventional risks or losses.

The Green Risks I and Green Risks II courses are scheduled back to back for those who want to attend both and receive their GRP designation.
