A Certified Professional Estimator has the knowledge and experience to assess damage and to make repair decisions based on the manufacturer's specifications, accepted industry procedures, and saftey concerns.

 

Having the knowledge to make important decisions is what sets the Certified Professional Estimator apart. The Certified Professional Estimator designation is earned through the successful completion of a series of tests, evaluations and training exercises covering many areas of damage analysis and repair procedures. Each area requires the Certified Professional Estimator to comprehend the material and to demonstrate proficiency in each segment.

 

An experienced professional

 

Attainment of the Certified Professional Estimator designation is based on a combination of experience and training. Most Certified Professional Estimators have an extensive knowledge base and have been produceing estimates for at least three years.

 

Only the experienced professional who has demonstrated experience and commitment to the industry is considered a candidate for the Certified Professional Estimator designation.

 

A disciplined professional

 

A Certified Professional Estimator is dedicated to the industry he/she serves. By successfully completing the program, each designee is casting a vote for professionalism. His/her conduct is exemplified by adherence to the Code of Conduct.

A Certified Professional Estimator is able to provide customers with accurate and detailed information concerning vehicle repair and restoration. Using the knowledge, experience, and resources of a Certified Professional Estimator, customers can be assured their vehicles are in the hands of a professional.

Code of Conduct

 

As a Certified Professional Estimator, I will strive at all times to live by the highest standards of professional conduct and;

 

  • Offer courteous, fair, prompt and objective service to policyholders, customers, and claimants.
  •  

  • Provide complete disclosure to the policyholder, customer, or claimant of each item contained in the itemized estimate or work order and any method of repair used to restore the vehicle to its pre-accident condition.
  •  

  • Respect all information received, treat it confidentially, and not disclose it to any person except as authorized by the principals or required by law.
  •  

  • Produce a work product that conforms to recognized industry standardsd.
  •  

  • Will not accept any form of consideration or inducement from any party who has an interest in an insurance claim, other than compensation from the principals.
  •  

  • Comply with all laws and regulations.
  •  

  • Continue my professional development with annual education and training opportunities;
  •  

    so as to reflect credit on my profession and on the Certified Professional Estimator designation.
